I use AVG Anti-Virus, it’s good & free. The Yahoo toolbar has a pop-up blocker that you can turn on. Also Ad-Aware from Lavasoft.

Spyware is much destructive than adware,but adware juzz track ur info n directs to that company.But both are harmful in several ways so use spybot 1.4 and a good antivirus which will provide a good protection agains both spyware n adware.

Ok this what I got of the following and I am surfing the net ad free I mean ad free. Download these free programs following: Avant Browser, Search and Destroy, Adware, Antivir, Avast, and AVG. There are other programs I use but it is pay for them but I got those programs and keys so if you want those programs and keys just ask me and if you got any problem configure them you know how to get hold of me.

While an Adware tries to pop up relevent ads on your computer, based on your surfing patterns, a spyware will try to steal information like your passwords, account details, or whatever inputs you make by reading the keystrokes. The best solution that has worked for me was available from microsoft. The have a programme which is now called defender, and coupled with Norton Antivirus, everything is fine on my machine

With spy ware you will be plagued with annoying pop ups.
A virus can destroy data on your computer.

Norton AntiVirus to protect my computer from viruses.

For pop-ups from adware and spyware..those two tools should help you out a bit at least.
